I Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
God created the family unit for provision. That means giving each person in the household what is needed. Provision comes in many forms and can be spoken in word, given in time, and given in things. It’s simply supplying something for use. The scripture clearly states that anyone who is not doing this denying the faith and it WORSE than an unbeliever.
I recently had a conversation with a relative who said she doesn’t feel obligated to help another people in her family because it’s not her problem especially if they got themselves into the mess. I told her I will agree to disagree with this topic because it should the families job to come together and support one another in times of difficulty. It’s in our calling.
Continue to be the light for your family because there are too many who have very skewed visions of what family is and is supposed to do. Teach your household the way so that they too can be an example of the light.
I pray that your family knows how wonderful it is to provide for one another and to meet someone in the point of their need. Kids can make gifts or give hugs or a positive word. Adults have greater flexibility with providing needs. Look for opportunities to encourage your family to provide for one another this week.

Kids Craft : If you’re having your children follow along with this study have them fold a piece of paper horizontally. In each section write the name of each household member. If you need more grab as many additional sheets as necessary. Under each person’s name how can they provide a need for them this week. If dad is sick what do you think he will need? If sister has been fussy this week because she’s teething what do you think she’ll need. Have the thinking ahead about the needs of others and begin to think about what they can supply to make the other person feel better.
