As a mother change is inevitable. Our bodies are constantly changing, our children are constantly changing, the dynamics in our homes are constantly changing and there is essentially nothing that can be done about it. But what happens when the change that comes about alters your entire world? What happens when the change is SO unexpected and SO life altering? Even the best of Christians can start to feel that urge to question the situation arise. It can feel like: Why me? Why now? Why my family? Hello Mamas! I have been in prayer mode recently. I have to be very honest with you, my home life has been on the fritz. I haven’t been following through as best as I could with my responsibilities and have been struggling balancing being both mommy and business owner. I had truly lost my desire for the home life and began to view it as a burden.
As I’ve transitioned from teacher to full time work from home mom it hasn’t been easy. I LOVE being able to be home with my babies and have more time with my school aged children. But the vision I set out to accomplish with my family hadn’t happen until recently.
Again I know what the Proverbs 31 woman does in the Bible but I struggled with finding my balance in this season of my life. I wonder how many kids she had because if it was five like me she sure is the real MVP! Staying up late to work on building my business, to fall asleep and wake up five times with my newborn is hard on the body and mind. I’m heavily relying on my Dunkin’ Donuts in the morning just to make it through the morning!
I wasn’t focused on making sure my home reflected God’s love nor was I really receiving His grace. So I sat down and had to figure something out! I saw my family getting frustrated with little things that I knew ultimately led back to me and I was no longer happy in my own home.
So I created a course for mamas who too make be struggling with really finding our mojo and heart for homemaking and all it entails. You don’t have to be a stay at home mom to appreciate this course but you do have to have a desire for a gospel centered home and life.
Your home should be that place of refuge, rest, and relaxation. It should be refreshing and restorative. It should reflect your families values and be a place you all love to return to. If your home and heart can use the refreshing join me for this course for the next 30 days!
[Proverbs 31:27 ] She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.
I know as a mom there are days we just don’t feel like doing anything. Either you’re coming home from a long day at work or it’s just been a long day at home and your responsibilities feel like they can wait until tomorrow. I get it, I’ve been there more time than I’d like to admit. But this verse makes it very clear that we have to look well upon our households so that it doesn’t suffer from us being lazy. [Read more…]
